The Dr. Who precons are pretty strong out of the box and fun to play. A lot of reasonable value reprints in them as well. Not the 50 dollar per card kind but 2-5 dollars. So playable yet not bonkers staples. If you can go older, the meren of clan nel Toth precon is probably one of the strongest precons ever printed.

The only negative being the secondary market is heavily marking these decks up. My local LGS sells these for $80, which is too much for a single precon magic deck, in my opinion.
