Now, I flip through about 600-700 cards a day including the old cards to review. I set my cards to the max 9999 and then I let Anki do the work of figuring out what I need to review and when. So far I have 423 cards in my deck and I see about 50 a day. That isn't including new cards I add in my deck though and I add about 20-40 new cards every day.
The Anking version of Miledowns deck has some great tags that you can use to suspend or unsuspend the cards you want to study.
