The prettiest photo of a sunset didn't start out that way but when it was over, people were bumper to bumper on the beach taking pics. An orange to blood red sunset....breath-taking! When filtering villa rentals, it seems on St. John, needing 5 bedrooms puts you in Peter Bay, or at least by the time I started looking, it did. My go -to villa rental agency is www.wheretostay.com. They are wonderful and while I've used others over the years, they remain my favorite.We go to St John at least twice per year and stay in the Bordeaux Mtn or Coral Bay areas. Lots of breeze there to keep bugs off, but still a lot of mosquitoes and no-see ums. We took a spray this year called Sawyers Insect Repellant with 20% picaridin and had fewer bites. I think the DEET only works well for mosquitoes.St. John is much better for snorkeling from shore. Antigua is only average in that regard. That being said, I love Antigua and it is one of my favorite islands to visit. Save. Just visited Denis Bay- not a great path to carry much- narrow and slippery in spots with trees so you have to duck at times, but it's doable if you had to I suppose. Nice, less crowded spot and good snorkeling on the right side. Fun little island to explore right offshore- great views but slippery.

Yes to Calabash for local fish as well as great Mediterranean dips. Dave’s Coral Bay Fresh Market has fresh fish that he vacuum packs. No fish market for now.
