2001 Kawasaki Vulcan problem!!!!!!! Ok, this is about my 2001 Vulcan Classic 1500 fi. It currently has 16,000 miles on it. And I bought it back in June with 13,000 miles on it. Here is what happened. I was giving my cousin some a chance to learn how to drive a bike. (Never drove one before).

2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic. 13,600 Miles. Couple weeks ago I tried to start it and nothing. Turned key on and off moved start switch on and off a few times then it finally started. Haven't had any problems until today. 1st time I heard clicking like the battery is low. It goes like this, the battery has sufficient charge to energize the starter solenoid, but once the solenoid contacts close and power is supplied to the motor, voltage to the solenoid drops and the contacts open, removing power to the motor.Depends on the performance and mileage you're getting. Stock, you should be getting around 47-50 MPG. With pipes and air, you should be getting in the 35-42 mpg range. Poor mileage can be an indication of tuning issues. Often age kills Vulcans long before mileage does. Metal corrodes, rubber rots, etc. No manufacturer can really correct those things. Certain models of the 1500 had a plastic oil gear that was prone to failure.Congratulations on your new ride. If the oil light is flashing, first thing check the oil. When was the last time it was changed and what weight was used. Have to check the bikes for any fault codes that might have been stored. If you bought the bike from a dealer, take it back and have them fix it.Some of the older 1500's had a problem with bent shift forks, but it would probably be jumping out of gear if that was the case. We are pretty sure that it is a bad fuel pump. The pump does not humm, or pump any gas, and if you squirt gas in the throttle body the bike runs for a few seconds.
