Dec 1, 2007 · I have a 2005 Accord EX. Purchased the car with 36k miles, now has 50k on it. Bought the car in April 2007. Recently, as it has been colder (in Chicago) when starting the car there is a loud whine, which happens when the car is starting and cold. The noise gets worse when turning, and turning is difficult and noisy until the car warms up. It’ll often sound like a deeper whine than a bad alternator. Car Whining When Starting.
