From my experience Asics volleyball shoes are quite wide. I have wider feet and while Nike shoes are almost always narrow to me, Asics are always a perfect fit. I have Asics Volley Elite FF atm and they are by far the best volleyball shoe I've ever had. I had some cheaper Asics before but the fit was great as well.

Ask them what balls are and aren’t yours, what spikes are and aren’t yours, how they like their passes or their sets, etc. Find an opportunity to practice with your team. Even if it’s before games - ask them to pass with you or throw up some sets for you and ask them for feedback. The leading distance scale will revolve around 0 which is right above the player’s head (inline with body). The scale then moves positive as the ball moves further forward, and negative if the ball is contacted behind the head. For the most part, your leading distance should be positive. If you play outdoors, I suggest KD 13 and 14. I tried J36 today, not as bouncy as KDs but it has really nice upper and XDR outsole. Maybe bigger men can make more use of J36's firmer cushion setup. a) Do not mix indoor/outdoor balls. An indoor ball is not durable enough for outdoor surfaces. An outdoor ball "doesn't fly right" in indoor climate. b) Get the ball you're most likely to be playing with. This is different in different regions and leagues. Ask around locally.
