Im dabbling in a noclip turret tower design for high boost servers that is heavily anti-cannon, taking 12 walls to get from one side to the other. Basically the standard 2x2 tower with an octagon inside the square foundations, then another layer of square foundations outside for layering with regular foundations overlapping them for even more support.

I think on land there are 2 meta towers. Fully vault dropped tower or skeleton tower. Search in Youtube for shockist tutorial on the skele tower design. Turret wall designs can vary from which cave you live in. Many do pillars+ceilings+double doorframes. Then put hatchframes on it. Then you want dive protect it with fence foundation spam in front.

Depleting them with turtles isn't an option because you'd need a single HIGH BASE turtle per turret and that's assuming they're offline. The only other way is c4 bombing them but that's also VERY COSTLY. On a 20 by 20 by 20 metal base it'd take around 500-1000 c4. That's not even counting the possible turret death towers.
