Long term guard runes are not ideal, I would focus on determination and fight runes. I didn't craft any determination runes but I instead crafted 300 fight runes, it was a huge grind but in the process I got improvements to several of my teams. Plenty of determination runes and high defense fight runes in the process :)

It is mathematically much harder to build Tricaru for early players if they try to slam Det runes (especially more than 1 set per dog). Guard runes are by far the easiest method to get the stats. There is an argument for using 1 Det set per dog as slot1 doesn’t have any real reqs, so you only need 1 more per dog.

You really are convincing me to use regular runes on my tricaru lol. I got couple of decent determination runes after having farmed for them but i need the extra push for my second and third icaru. I haven't seen a single flat defense gem for determination rune to help

here are the runes. take note Verde is currently runed for Team#2 (Tricaru). when he was in Teams#1 & #2, he was runed Vio Rev 180 SPD. he is no longer on Vio and he is also specifically runed thick now (>75k EHP) to survive dragon breath at <30% boss hp.
