Brandon, I owned a 23 Sea Ox in 1981 , 1982 time frame. Had a 235 Evinrude on it. Fished offshore with it and in the Bay! Owned a 23 Seacraft after that! The Sea Ox is very well built, very solid! Pool noodles are cheap bouys but marking them is a PITA. I got the bullet floats and cut them in half. Used soldering iron and burned name into them all. Then DNR id # thing came into play and just used sharpie.If that's still the case then aluminum butts are the way to go, period. For $20-40 less a rod you can go with slick butts. You will gain some stability with the aluminum butts and certainly longevity.
