Oanda won’t allow you to trade US30. They don’t allow indices. On tradingview it's called "US30USD". If you live in the US you won't be able to trade it. But if you don't live in the US, I guess MT4 just doesn't have it, and you need to go try on tradingview platform. Oanda changed my demo account server. Rants. I had been using this particular demo account for the last 2 weeks or so. Been practicing my new strategy successfully on indices. I was previously on the Practice 4 server which which was perfect. Fast forward today, I get an email from Oanda saying they've moved me to a Practice 2 server. The analysis comes down to this: For Core + Commission, on a 10k lot, you will pay 50 cent commission per side, plus the Spread. Therefore, if the spread is more then .5 pips tighter under the commission plan, it saves money over the Spread plan. Like some have already said here, you can't trade CFDs in the US. If you want to trade it legally, you'll have to save up $25k to get past the PDT rule like every other securities day trader. Or if you want to be licensed then take and pass the FINRA Series 57 exam. Then you can day trade with however much capital you want.
