A quiz on the rubrics of the essay portions of the AP World History exam. Meant to help remember how to earn points, but really effective at earning points on the rubric quizzes. Note: Context, Thesis, and Advanced Reasoning are the same for both rubrics, so they are only listed once.The Long Essay Question (LEQ) asks students to formulate a thesis/argument in response to a prompt about a particular historical development or episode in European history. In 2023 each LEQ asked students to evaluate the most significant change during a specified era in European history. In this activity, students will become familiar with both the WHP LEQ Writing Rubric and the WHP DBQ Writing Rubric. They will review sample LEQ and DBQ essays to specifically home in on the elements outlined in each of these rubrics. Note: The WHP LEQ and DBQ rubrics are based on actual AP® World History: Modern exam rubrics.
