Ground placed aoe macros have trouble placing on bosses when the boss is part of the wall (example: Shinryu). Adding a line that places the aoe on yourself ensures that the aoe will go off in these instances. Yep!

First off, if you want to use macros, use them. I suggest not using them for your main rotation or anything though. But it's your play style, so do what you like, as long as no toxicity :) I've never had someone complain about this, or any macro I use in any raids, though most of them are on my healer.
