This is for those that are out of warranty or want to quickly fix their LR3's infamous blue flashing light, (Drawer full message), yellow fast flashing light (pinch detect) or are experiencing a labored motor sound when in cycle that eventually results in a Over torque fault, (Alternating yellow to red lights).
Disassemble. 1. Turn the base over so it is upside down. 2. Remove the 9 screws connecting the bottom of the base to the top of the base. 1 screw at the back of the unit behind the black cat sensor foot. 3. Gently lift to separate the two halves of the base. The pieces will still be connected by a wire.The yellow light flashing quickly is due to the anti-pinch feature. The Anti-Pinch safety feature is two pin connected to the motherboard that must touch each other continuously. If they are separated, you will have an alarm (yellow blinking light). The Anti-Pinch safety is located in the top back left of the Litter-Robot base.The litter is above the fill line or in excess of 10lbs. The cat sensor has not been reset after adding weight. The waste drawer has too much weight. The unit is sitting on an uneven surface - grout lines on a tile floor or in a bathtub. The unit is pushed into a corner, against a wall, or furniture. Removed the “2 metal pins” and cleaned them - not dirty and afterwords checked the continuity between them - OK. Checked the 2 magnets - OK. Cleaned the DFI sensor.
