The marlin does have a beefier feel to it versus the henry, i think this is due to the thicker forend and barrel on the marlin. The new ruger Marlins don't have as thick of a forend as the older remington and Marlins did, but its still thicker and a bit longer than the Henry. I prefer this from a comfort and aesthetics perspective.
