It's a lost sector, for one. It'll take 5 - 8 mins to run once we're at the appropriate light. It's only hard right now because most of us are 30 under, and our Stasis subclasses aren't even fully unlocked/realised. And it has a decent chance at dropping exotics too, so a fireteam of 3 will wreck that whole lost sector in less than 5 minutes.

You are only getting exotics from a finite loot pool. If someone wants to farm for rolls lost sectors are an option. It's questionable whether or not lost sector farming is better than Nightfalls. Lost Sectors have a smaller loot pool, but lower drop rates. Nightfalls (at least Master or up) have a high drop rate, but the loot pool isn't limited.
