After replacement, the aux switches didn't show up until we drove a bit. My guess is the replacement battery, while charged, wasn't to full capacity yet. I checked battery voltage using a multimeter and it is at 12.37 volts. This was a couple of hours after driving. This is probably a little low. I am going to replace the 12 volt battery and hopefully that will resolve the ESS problem. My concern was it possibly being an issue with the 48V battery which is probably really expensive to replace.
