Jun 19, 2021 · Stevens 301-Indian Creek .385- patterns. by Riverrat » June 19th, 2021, 9:26 pm. I've shot 3 different makes of TSS and Indian Creek .385 at 40 yards. The barrel has been perfectly clean between each shot. Consistently has 2 to 3-2" holes in the pattern.
I have killed 2 at 14 steps with the Indian Creek .390 in my 301 & Viper 1oz #10s. I tried several chokes. The factory actually was good enough to hunt with this load. Wilson custom loads #10s and Jebs XX FULL hammers at 30 for sure. I’m sure the others do to but when tested most at 40 they all seemed about maxed out.The Anaconda is available in more sizes, including short, mid, and long-range versions. I would start with 385 if I wanted to shoot 9s, and if I wanted to go smaller to 9.5 or 10s, I would start with 380.
