I set up some mods for SDV on my steam deck a while back, there are plenty of tutorials to follow online so that was nice. As far as performance goes, I only downloaded some more mainstream mods like Stardew valley expanded and some recommended companion mods (which I assume are probably pretty well optimized and maintained compared to others) but everything ran really smoothly.But if I recall I did installed smapi first, copied my mods from my pc then transferred to steamdeck (i didn't wanna redownload and i know my mods worked) then change a single line on the stardew valley file to "true".
