Jun 6, 2020 / Kohler CV 740 just converted from DSAM to MDI Ignition Coil. Tach doesn't work. #1. I have a Craftsman DGT 6000 with a Kohler CV 740 Command Pro 27HP. Just replaced the coils with the Kohler MDI Ignition Module Conversion Kit Part # 25 790 12. Runs great and smoother than before only issue is the tachometer no longer works.

I believe this grounding issue could be some of the root cause for Kohler coil failure so I suggest adding a dedicated ground if your engine doesn't have one.This coil kit is a great replacement.
