Started to overheat after a trip to an ORV park but I washed the radiator out and its pretty clean on the outside. 1990 YJ Overheating. Just bought a 1990 Wrangler YJ. It cranks and runs great, however, after running it 30-40 minutes it starts to overheat (can smell it/see smoke, as temp gauge does not work). If the top radiator hose isn't getting hard, then you might have a bad radiator cap, or a leak.
