Yes, the Lectron will be a pretty large improvement over a jetted stocker. The stock carburetor is a huge restriction no matter how you jet it. What I didn't like about the Edelbrock was it had a weird feeling that didn't feel seamless across the rev range. I installed on my 2011 drz 400s. runs much better especially at elevation. also get at least 5mpg better than before. The effect of altitude on carb performance is vastly exaggerated. My drz has an FCR39 (no choke). I live at 2000 ft and my trail rides take me routinely beyond 7500ft. It's a *bit richer, but there isn't a dramatic loss of power or anything. Folks who actually ride at varying altitudes make sure their carbs are tuned and just go ride.
