Something like Olaf, Xin Zhao or Gragas are probably the best imo. Others worth mentioning are Camille, Taliyah, Graves and Evelynn. Its actually not too bad. The problem with lane ryze is that u have to face an oponent 1v1 with no dmg, no sustain, no nothing until u get a couple items. Let's say Ryze has ~3000 total mana with Muramana and a mana Mythic. The 2.5% max mana is 75 on-hit damage (if I understand correctly, the same ability can proc it only once every 4 seconds). At this point, Ryze's fluxed Overload AP ratio is probably 0.765 (rank 2 ult). EQ will proc it twice I think (correct me if this is wrong). He's actually pretty durable with his Quas minibuffs and early-game consumables in the early game phase. A lot of people don't really bother funneling resources to him any more as an average Invoker with enough levels can already do a lot with damage spells like Chaos Meteor(Meatball!) and a Deafening Blast. Tank Ryze build. Mid Builds. TL;DR: be tankier = live longer = more EQ. Final Build: Crown, Mejai's, Lucidity boots, Fimbulwinter, Demonic Embrace, Rylai's.
