For the no equipment challenge the equipment doesn't matter but you most likely want to at least have defeated UUG and unlocked beards, preferably after you put a decent amount in permanent levels for the first beard (that beard doesn't have a soft cap but around 1000 permanent levels will really help).Most people would recommend doing the challenges much later than you have been.
