Just bought a 2019 Armada SL with 48K miles on it. Drove it for approximately 2.5 weeks and started encountering an issue with the car firing up when pressing the ignition button. Then the dashboard lights started and finally the dreaded BCI malfunction came on. Took it to my local Nissan dealership and they ran their diagnostics.

At times it will start after 5 or 6 attempts sometimes 20 attempts. On the last 5 occasions it would not start until a battery charger or other battery was used. We also pumped out all the old brake fluid out and replaced it with new dot 3. My mechanic doubted the old brake fluid was the cause of the ABS malfunction but we decided to flush it anyways based on the mileage and year of the vehicle. Jan 16, 2020 · My 2017 Armada has spent 13 days over 3 visits in the Nissan shop, trying to solve the BCI Malfunction issues many people have. Like others, power would drop, cruise control would kick out randomly etc.. On first visit to Nissan they reprogrammed the antilock braking computer - didn't help. So, the BCI is the system that is aimed to prevent collisions while you are reversing in your Infiniti SUV. This BCI system is known to be pretty faulty and you shouldn’t rely on it much. I’ve spoken to Nissan mechanics, Infiniti QX80 owners, Infiniti dealerships and now I know quite a lot about this BCI Malfunction problem.
